8-Bar Blues in A

Blues4/44 views

The 8-bar blues is a compact variant of the 12-bar form. In A: A7–D7–A7–E7–D7–A7–E7–A7. It starts with the I7 chord, jumps to IV7 in bar 2 (earlier than the 12-bar form), and wraps up more quickly. Used in classics like "Key to the Highway" and many early country-blues songs.
