Son Cubano / Guajira in C

Son cubano is the root of much modern Latin music, from salsa to mambo. The basic I–IV–V–I in C (C–F–G7–C) is played with the characteristic clave rhythm pattern underlying everything. The guitar plays a rhythmic "montuno" pattern — short, interlocking melodic-rhythmic figures that lock in with percussion.
