Classic Rock I–IV–V

The foundation of rock and roll. E–A–B7 in the key of E uses three open-position chords and covers an enormous amount of musical territory. Chuck Berry, Elvis, and virtually every classic rock band built their careers on this sequence. The V chord (B7) creates strong tension that pulls back to E.
