Ska Off-Beat in G

Ska originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s before evolving into rocksteady and reggae. The guitar plays on the off-beats with an upstroke "skank" at a much faster tempo than reggae. In G: G–C–D7–G. The fast, choppy off-beat upstrokes create the characteristic ska pulse that makes people want to dance.
